We spent the morning exploring Acadia's famous carriage roads on our Lectric bikes, looping around Jordan Pond and Eagle Lake. The ride offered spectacular views of both lakes and made for an almost perfect day on the trails. We walked down the hill from Village Green in Bar Harbor toward the shoreline, where one of nature's daily transformations was about to appear. As the tide retreated, the famous land bridge to Bar Island emerged from the sea. The half-mile natural gravel and sand bar connects downtown Bar Harbor to Bar Island in Acadia National Park, but only for a short window twice each day during low tide. Sometimes the best wildlife encounters happen so fast there's no time for a camera. Our day started by watching a baby deer faithfully follow its mother across the Park Loop Road in Acadia National Park. While spending some time in Massachusetts, we managed to check a few projects off the list. The Jeep needed a new set of shoes. After a lot of research, I decided to step up from 33-inch tires to 35-inch tires. That meant a few supporting upgrades as well, including a new rear door hinge and spare tire carrier to handle the extra weight. Toured Four Roses Distillery and had a chance to really play around with the low-light video capabilities of the Sony camera. It was impressive how well the camera handled the available lighting, requiring very little editing afterward to produce clean, detailed footage. The distillery tour itself was fantastic. Mothership Rally in Elkhart, Indiana— where 161 Renegade RV coaches turn a single campground into an incredible sea of motorhomes. Seeing this many beautiful rigs gathered together really puts the size of the Renegade family into perspective. After a winter escape to Florida, we rolled out of Massachusetts on January 5, trading snowbanks for sunshine. Our time down south took us through Camp Margaritaville in Auburndale, FL, Fort Wilderness at Disney, with a visit from our kids, and then to Riverside RV Resort in Arcadia, FL, to spend the remainder of winter with friends—each stop adding its own flavor to the trip and plenty of great memories along the way. We wrapped up our trip by visiting Lily and Justin and reconnecting with some fellow Renegades at a rally in Texas. The journey included 24 stops and 7,187 miles —quite an adventure! Thank you to Open Roads(@openroads) for saving us $811 in fuel , which definitely made the miles even sweeter.
