September travels
What a week of travel! We squeezed in one last repair while playing catch-up on our travels out west, with a couple of preplanned stops on the calendar—a week in Moab and then Albuquerque.
First stop: Indiana. We made a mad dash to meet up with Justin Dumott, an RV tech who specializes in Renegades. And let me tell you, driving through cornfields at night in a 45-foot-long RV is an experience all by itself! 😂
Justin never disappoints. He helped diagnose the problem and got us back on the road by replacing the failing slide motor on our longest slide. One more repair checked off the list!
Leaving Indiana around midday, we motored on to St. Louis for a visit to the Arch and dinner at Guido’s pizza and tapas. The new patio expansion at Guido’s is unbelievable—huge, beautifully designed, and incredibly well thought out. I have a feeling meals on that patio are going to create some great memories for so many people.
From St. Louis, we jumped onto Route 66… well, sort of. 😂 Being 45 feet long and carrying a whole lot of weight means we aren't exactly what Route 66 was designed for. Between low bridges and bridges we’re simply too heavy for, we spent plenty of time on the interstates and jumped onto Route 66 whenever we knew it was safe.

Along the way, we made some fun stops: Uranus Fudge Factory, Sinclair Gas Station, a 66-foot-tall obelisk, Cadillac Ranch, the Big Texan Ranch, TX Buc-ee's, and the famous Milk Bottle.
And then, as we rolled into Albuquerque, we started turning north toward Moab and our next Renegade gathering.
One repair down, plenty of miles behind us, and a whole lot more adventure ahead. That’s life on the road!
